Ruth Shine
ARAD RTS, AISTD, PDDS
Ruth began her training with the McFeely School of Dance at the age of six, then moving on to Inchicore College of Further Education to complete her Royal Academy of Dance Teachers Certificate. While there, she also received her National Certificate in Exercise and Fitness.
Ruth then moved to London to train in the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, receiving a Professional Diploma in Dance Studies, with a particular focus on choreography and inclusion in dance. On her return to Ireland, she started teaching for various teachers in Dublin and Wicklow, before purchasing her own school at the age of twenty three! Whilst building up her schools, Ruth continued to perform with Dublin Youth Dance Company, 50% Male Experiemental Theatre and to choreograph for festivals and shows, including the Ninette de Valois Dance Festival, as well as teaching for various charities and groups such as Enable Ireland and the Dyspraxia Association of Ireland.
Ruth continues to add more strings to her bow, as she is now an Associate member of the ISTD and has recently trained as an Acrobatic Arts teacher. She trains with the best teachers in the world, travelling to the Royal Ballet School several times a year to update her teaching methods.Kathy Young
Teacher
Kathy Young began her ballet training at the age of four, moving on to join Dublin Youth Dance Company at sixteen where she studied, trained, and performed in contemporary dance. Following on from this, Kathy studied at University of Limerick and was awarded with a first-class honour’s degree in Voice & Dance.
During her time at university, Kathy had the opportunity to study ballet and modern at Inchicore College of Further Education. She also travelled to Kuopio, Finland to study dance pedagogy and worked at Kuopio Dance Festival. Since then, she has performed with the Step-Up Dance Project working with well-known dance artists in Ireland and has been teaching ballet, musical theatre, hip hop and contemporary within various performing arts schools in Leinster.
More recently, Kathy has been awarded a Certificate in Ballet Teaching with the Royal Academy of Dance and is also an Acrobatic Arts certified teacher.
